The arithmetic

Two scores, one worked example

  • Qualtrics shows percent favourable. It is the share of participants rating in the favourable band of a scale, and sliders on each dashboard scale set where that band sits.
  • CultureMonkey shows an average. Every answer counts toward it. Ratings are stored on a 1 to 5 scale and shown on 0 to 10 by default, so 3.88 out of 5 appears as 7.8.
  • No conversion factor exists. Team A answered half 5s and half 1s, Team B all 3s. Both average 3.0, so both show 6.0 here. With 4s and 5s as favourable, Qualtrics shows 50% and 0%.
  • Note the favourable bands before access ends. They sit in the EX dashboard under Dashboard Settings, then Scales. Every past percentage depends on them.
Questions

Bringing your questions across

  • Questions can keep their exact wording. Each one is added in the survey builder with Add custom question and linked to a driver, a theme such as Recognition, as it goes in.
  • Industry benchmarks cover default drivers and eNPS. A question the team wrote itself has no industry benchmark. Library questions come pre-mapped to drivers and benchmarked.
  • Pick default drivers or custom ones, not both. A survey uses one set or the other, and custom drivers do not map to industry benchmarks. Choose on the Basic step of the survey builder.

What to export first

Illustrative trend.

Trend

One trend line, two platforms

  • Mark the switch on the chart. Add the changeover date and label each side: percent favourable before it, an average after it.
  • Consider running the last survey on Qualtrics. Download its raw response dataset when it closes. CultureMonkey can import older surveys during onboarding, so the trend has no gap.
  • Compare direction within each side. 64% rising to 69%, then 7.0 rising to 7.6, is two rises. 69% followed by 7.0 is a change of measurement, not a drop.
  • Export the old dashboards. Qualtrics exports dashboard pages as PDF, JPG, PPTX or DOCX files. After the move, those files are the record of past scores.
Participation

Why participation moves the score

  • Who answers moves both kinds of score. If more of a team answers after the move, percent favourable and the average can both shift while no opinion has changed.
  • Explain the anonymity rule in numbers. The Qualtrics default threshold is five responses. The CultureMonkey dashboard default is also five, and it never goes below three.

FAQ

Score continuity after Qualtrics

How does a Qualtrics score convert to a CultureMonkey score?
No formula turns one into the other. Qualtrics reports percent favourable: the share of participants whose rating falls in the favourable band of a scale. CultureMonkey reports an average, stored on 1 to 5 and shown on 0 to 10 by default. Two teams with the same average can be fifty points apart on percent favourable.
What counts as a favourable response in Qualtrics?
Whatever the dashboard's scale settings say. Sliders on each scale set which points count as unfavourable, neutral and favourable. Before access ends, open Dashboard Settings, then Scales, on each dashboard, and record where the favourable band sits on every scale in use.
How many responses before a team's results show?
In Qualtrics the default confidentiality threshold is five, for both data points and comments, and Brand Administrators, EX Administrators and Employee Insights Admins can change it. In CultureMonkey the dashboard default is also five. It can be raised but never set below three, and one minimum covers scores and comments.
Can the same questions be used?
Yes, word for word. Each question is added in the survey builder with Add custom question and linked to a driver as it goes in. Industry benchmarks cover default drivers and eNPS, so a question the team wrote itself has no industry benchmark. Library questions come pre-mapped and benchmarked.
Can the last survey run on Qualtrics and still come across?
Yes. Run the final survey on Qualtrics as normal and download its raw response dataset when it closes. CultureMonkey can import older surveys during onboarding, and an imported survey on a different scale can be excluded from dashboard trends while its own report stays.
Will the trend line break at the changeover?
The measurement changes, so label it. Mark the switch date on the chart and name the measurement on each side. Compare direction within each side, not numbers across the line: 69% favourable followed by 7.0 is a change of measurement, not a drop.
