The plan

What does a move off Peakon involve?

  1. Export from Peakon

    You and your Workday admin

Raw answers, comments and employee records, saved before your Peakon service ends.

    Export guide
  2. Connect Workday

Your Workday admin, with our team

Employees, managers and attributes syncing one way into CultureMonkey, or a CSV to start.

    Workday guide
  3. Rebuild your survey

    You, with our team

Your questions re-created, with our team proposing the driver for each one.

    Mapping guide
  4. Bring your history across

    Our team, from your export

Past rounds sit beside your new results, converted to CultureMonkey scoring so they compare.

    Score guide
  5. Launch and brief leadership

    You

Your first survey live, with past rounds converted so leadership sees the trend continue.

    Leadership note

Work back from your Peakon end date

  1. As early as you canSwitch on Peakon’s answer export, and ask Workday whether Peakon can be dropped separately from a bundled license.
  2. Before your first CultureMonkey surveyConnect Workday or upload a CSV, agree your question mapping with our team, and complete your security review.
  3. Before your Peakon end dateRun your final export, including comments, and save any comment conversations you need separately.
  4. Around the switchDecide whether to run both platforms for one cycle, and brief leadership before the first results.
  5. After the end dateWorkday deletes or de-identifies Peakon data no later than six months after the service period ends.
History

What happens to Peakon survey history?

  • Workday deletes or de-identifies Peakon data within six months. Its privacy documentation sets that limit after your service period ends and mentions no way to retrieve data afterwards, so the export is the one step with a hard deadline.
  • Raw answers only come out through an API you must switch on. Workday Customer Care enables it, and it only returns answers received after that date. Comment exports leave out conversations, so save those separately.
  • There is no import button, so our team brings your history across. Send us what you exported and how your questions map. Past rounds sit beside your new results, converted to CultureMonkey scoring so they compare.

Score

Will the engagement score still compare?

  • Our team maps your questions and converts past scores to compare. We propose a question-to-driver mapping and convert past rounds to CultureMonkey scoring. Keep your most-watched questions word for word, and report participation next to every score.
  • The recommend question is the one score you can carry over. Peakon’s core question and CultureMonkey’s standard eNPS ask nearly the same question on the same 0 to 10 scale, so recomputed from your exported answers, the line continues.
  • Workday is moving Peakon to a new model that recalculates scores. Its new 90-question model retires some drivers and questions, and Workday plans to recalculate past scores when your account upgrades, so the numbers leadership has seen will change either way.

“In just seven days, CultureMonkey designed and launched our survey to 2,000 employees across multiple geographies and in five languages. A feat that would normally take 45 days.”

Workday

What changes in the Workday setup?

  • Workday HCM stays your system of record, and nothing writes back. CultureMonkey reads employees, managers and attributes one way through a Workday report your admin sets up. Leaving Peakon changes nothing inside Workday HCM itself.
  • The sync runs twice a week, or daily if it is enabled. Peakon’s own Workday sync runs through the hour, so plan launches around the difference. People missing from a sync are not deactivated automatically, and leavers stay inactive.
  • You get 20 standard fields plus your own custom attributes. Managers are matched by email or ID, and indirect reports roll up automatically. Not ready to connect yet? Start with a CSV upload and switch to Workday later.
Mapping

How does a Peakon setup map to CultureMonkey?

In PeakonIn CultureMonkeyWhat to do
Drivers and sub-drivers15 default drivers, or your own custom driversPick one set per survey; a survey cannot mix them
QuestionsRe-created in the survey builder or picked from the question libraryOur team proposes a driver for each question
0 to 10 answersFive-point rating scales, shown out of 10 by default, out of 5 or as a percentageCompare direction and ranking, not absolute numbers
Engagement outcome questionsOverall score: the average of every rating answerOur team converts past rounds so they compare
eNPSStandard eNPS: 0 to 10, % of 9 to 10 minus % of 0 to 6Keep it in every survey for a continuous line
Anonymous comment conversationsTwo-way conversations started from feedbackDecide whether managers can start them
Skipping a questionA “Question not applicable” option, switched on per questionNo reason is captured, and the comment clears
Minimum group sizeDashboard threshold 5 by default, never below 3Match what your employees were told
Segments and attributesStandard and custom attributes from WorkdayMap your fields once
ReorganizationsResults stay tied to the org as it was when each person answeredClose to Peakon, which uses the round’s launch date
PrioritiesFocus areas and strengths from driver averagesRead them alongside comments
BenchmarksIndustry, regional, country and internalDefault drivers; custom drivers are not benchmarked by default
ChannelsEmail, Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS, WhatsApp, QR codes and kioskSwitch on the channels your employees use
Workday syncTwice a week, or daily if enabledPlan survey launches after a sync
People lead
Their question
Will our program survive the move?
Owns the question set, the schedule and the leadership briefing.
IT / Workday admin
Their question
What does this read, and how often?
Sets up the Workday report. Twice a week, one way, nothing written back.
Security
Their question
What is the certification position?
SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001, ready for the security review.
Finance
Their question
How long do we pay for both?
Owns the overlap, set by the Peakon end date and the license terms.
Sign-off

Who needs to sign off the move?

  • Four people usually sign off an enterprise move, not one. The People lead owns the program, IT owns the Workday report, security owns the review, and finance owns the period where you pay for both tools.
  • IT’s questions are simpler than most People teams expect. They want to know what the integration reads, how often, and whether anything is written back. The answers: a Workday report, twice a week, and nothing.
  • Security will ask about certification, and the answers are ready. CultureMonkey is SOC 2 compliant and ISO 27001 certified. Share the current reports rather than a summary, because a procurement team that asks twice adds weeks.
FAQ

Other questions about moving off Peakon

The migration

The questions teams ask once they have decided to move.

Who does the migration work, us or you?
Your Workday admin sets up the report. Our team proposes the question-to-driver mapping, brings your history across from your export and converts past rounds to CultureMonkey scoring. You agree the mapping, brief leadership and launch the first survey.
Can we launch before the Workday connection is ready?
Yes. Upload employees from a CSV for your first survey and switch to the Workday connection later. The connection then keeps employees and managers up to date on its schedule.
Can you bring our past Peakon results into CultureMonkey?
There is no self-serve import. Our team works from the files you exported and your question mapping, and past rounds sit beside your new results, converted to CultureMonkey scoring so they compare. What can come across depends on what you exported.
How long do we have after our Peakon contract ends?
Up to six months. Workday's privacy documentation says Peakon data is deleted or de-identified no later than six months after your service period ends, and it does not mention any way to retrieve data after that.
What anonymity threshold should we use?
Match what your employees were told on Peakon. CultureMonkey's dashboard threshold defaults to 5 and never goes below 3, and anonymous surveys hide results for groups with fewer than 3 responses by default.
Can employees still answer in Slack, Teams or on their phone?
Yes. Surveys go out by email and, where enabled, Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS and WhatsApp, with QR codes and a kiosk mode for people without a work email.

Bring your Peakon end date and your question set. We will map what carries across and set a date for your first survey.
