Carries

What comes with you, and what does not

  • Your questions are re-created and mapped to drivers. Every rating question needs a driver to count toward the score, so allow setup time for long questionnaires.
  • Older survey data can be imported during onboarding. Confirm with CultureMonkey's account executive what the history covers before promising anyone an unbroken trend line.
  • Keep open-text comments in your own export. Export them as Excel or CSV before access ends; CultureMonkey's account executive confirms what your account can bring in.
What carries from Culture Amp to CultureMonkey, item by item
What you have todayAcross the changeWhat that means in practice
Your question wordingCarriesRe-created, with each rating question mapped to a driver so it counts toward the score. Long questionnaires take more setup.
Driver structureCarries, with a choiceUse the fifteen research-backed default drivers to keep benchmark comparisons, or name custom ones and lose them. Each survey uses one set, never a mix.
Your historical scoresImportable at onboardingCan be imported during onboarding. Confirm what it covers before planning a board update around it.
Open-text commentsKeep your own exportExport comments as Excel or CSV and keep them as a local record. CultureMonkey's account executive will confirm what the account can bring in.
Your benchmark comparisonNot carried overBenchmarks are tied to drivers, not vendors. Culture Amp's comparison does not come across. Library questions on standard drivers join CultureMonkey's.
Your employee listCarries by CSVLoad employees and survey participants from a CSV. CultureMonkey checks the file and flags rows to fix before importing.
Your survey cadenceYours to setScheduled annual or quarterly surveys, weekly to monthly pulses and date-triggered lifecycle surveys are all available. The old schedule does not limit you.
Action plans in progressRe-created by handExport Culture Amp's Action Dashboard as Excel. It only covers actions on shared reports, so note any on overall results. Re-create live actions on CultureMonkey's actions board.
Built on your dataEvery row reflects what is documented today. CultureMonkey's account executive confirms the details against the live account and data, so the plan rests on facts, not estimates.
Scores

Will your engagement score change after the move?

  • Expect the headline number to move, for honest reasons. Rating scale, wording and question count all change, and each can move the score on its own.
  • Ratings are stored 1 to 5, shown 0 to 10. That display is CultureMonkey’s default, so old and new scores are not like-for-like, even with the same questions.
  • Your own movement over time stays readable. Comparing cycles inside one platform is fair. Brief your board on the change before the first result, not after.

Plan

Five weeks, kickoff to go live

  • We commit to five weeks, kickoff to go live. People data comes first, then survey setup and testing, then launch, so nothing waits on unscheduled IT work.
  • The HRIS integration is not needed for launch. Employees and participants load from a CSV, checked before import, so a survey can go out while integration work continues.
  • Older survey data can be imported during onboarding. Raise it early. Bring exports to kickoff and confirm what your history covers before a board date relies on it.

Export

Get your data out before you cancel

  • Culture Amp offers no bulk export of all data. Its documentation says exports go feature by feature, and its team cannot help with one-off requests.
  • One file holds scores, demographics and comments together. That Raw Data Extract cannot be switched on afterward, so only surveys launched with it can produce one.
  • Culture Amp’s General Terms allow 30 days to export after termination, but contracts can differ. Start 60 to 90 days out and confirm your dates in writing.

These limits come from Culture Amp’s export and transfer guide and its General Terms, clause 12.6.

Parity

What you keep and what changes after switching

  • You keep your program’s shape and most wording. Drivers, cadence, segments and reporting cuts can be rebuilt. What changes is where they live and how scores are calculated.
  • You gain an actions board that tracks follow-through. Five columns: To Do, On Hold, In Progress, Cancelled and Completed, with one owner per action, so progress is visible.
  • A few areas work in CultureMonkey’s own way. Export formats, action tracking and heat maps follow CultureMonkey’s own setup, so walk leadership through the new views early.
Anonymity

Who can see individual survey responses on each platform

  • On anonymous surveys, no CultureMonkey role sees who said what. Not even admins. It is enforced in the data, not by hiding a report column.
  • Two minimum response counts do different jobs. On anonymous surveys, the survey minimum is three responses. Dashboards default to five, can be raised, and never go below three.
  • Any survey can be set as identified for follow-up. For example, onboarding check-ins. Admins can then see individual responses, so tell employees which kind they are answering.
On the Culture Amp sideOn Culture Amp, it depends on each survey’s format. Attributed surveys link responses to individuals; unattributed surveys do not. A group’s results stay hidden below its reporting group minimum, usually 5. Check each of your surveys.
Benchmarks

How your benchmark comparisons carry over to CultureMonkey

  • Benchmarks are tied to standard drivers, not vendors. Your Culture Amp benchmark comparison does not come across. Library questions on CultureMonkey’s standard drivers join its benchmarks instead.
  • Questions on custom drivers have no benchmark. Only your organization measures those drivers, so the questions track internal trends but cannot show how you compare.
  • Heavily rewording a library question can lose the comparison. The benchmark was not measured on your new wording, so weigh this before editing, not after the first report.

The retention line

Connect lifecycle feedback to the early-attrition questions the board asks about, and show what changed once you fixed the causes.

One consistent journey

The same listening standard from day one to exit, across every team and location, rather than a patchwork of forms.

The early signal

Onboarding feedback from the first month and exit feedback for your own teams, while follow-up can still change the outcome.

Zero chasing

Trigger rules replace the spreadsheet of joining dates. Joiners, milestones and leavers are surveyed without a single manual send.

Proof

Who actually carries a Culture Amp migration internally

  • A platform change is rarely one person's project. Four roles touch it, each with a different question about the move and a different deadline.
  • People Ops carries the work nobody planned for. Employee data, participant lists, access and scheduling all land there, so the CSV route matters more than the integration.
  • The executive answers the question asked in public. Someone must explain the first score after the switch. Write that explanation before the result arrives, not after.
Cost

What changes commercially when you leave Culture Amp

  • The notice window sets the export deadline. Culture Amp’s General Terms require written non-renewal notice at least 90 days before term end, unless your Service Order says otherwise.
  • Decide on purpose whether to overlap contracts. An overlap changes your budget and how much room you have if an export takes longer than planned.
  • Get the wind-down in writing while you have leverage. Ask about your data after the end date, sign-in access during notice, and what an extension would cost.
What the terms sayCulture Amp’s General Terms give 30 days after termination to export. Under clause 12.6 (July 2026 version), Culture Amp may then delete Customer Data. Negotiated contracts can differ, so confirm the dates in writing and treat the signed exports as the only copy you control.
FAQ

Moving from Culture Amp: frequently asked questions

Timing and scope

What the move involves and how long it runs.

Why do teams move off Culture Amp?
On G2, Culture Amp's reviewers most often praise ease of use, then helpfulness, intuitiveness, simplicity and customer support. The most mentioned drawbacks are missing features and limited customization. If lifecycle surveys are a reason, CultureMonkey triggers onboarding and exit surveys from each employee's key dates.
How long does it take to migrate from Culture Amp?
We commit to five weeks from kickoff to go live, covering employee data, setup, access and test sends. Your first survey can go out from a CSV while HRIS integration work continues.
Will we lose our survey history?
Older survey data can be imported during onboarding. Confirm what the account covers before promising the board an unbroken trend line. Export everything from Culture Amp anyway, because access ends with your subscription.
Can we keep our existing questions?
You can keep your wording. Questions are re-created and each rating question is mapped to a driver, so allow setup time for long questionnaires. Library questions on standard drivers appear in benchmark comparisons; questions on custom drivers do not.

Mechanics

The two questions that decide your launch date.

Do we need the HRIS integration before the first survey?
No. Employees and survey participants can both be loaded from a CSV, which CultureMonkey checks and flags before importing. Your first survey can go out while integration work continues.
What do we need to export before our contract ends?
At minimum, the Insight or Questions report and the Comments report for every survey, as Excel or CSV, not PDF or Print. Culture Amp does not offer a bulk export of all your data. Its support guide says access ends with the subscription, and its General Terms allow 30 days after termination to export, so confirm which terms your contract uses.

Confidentiality

Who can see an individual response, on either platform.

Are Culture Amp surveys anonymous?
Culture Amp describes its surveys as confidential, not anonymous. Attributed surveys link responses to individuals; unattributed surveys have no link to any individual. A group's results stay hidden until its reporting group minimum, usually 5, is met. Check which format each of your surveys used.
