Show or hide entire survey sections based on an employee's own profile - team, location, gender, designation, or any custom attribute you've added.
Not every survey section is relevant to every employee. Section Visibility Rules let you show or hide entire sections based on an employee's own profile - so people only ever see what applies to them.
Dynamic Section Visibility is available on request through your Success Manager.
In the survey builder, attach a rule to any section: show it only if an employee's attribute matches one of the values you pick, or only if it doesn't match any of them. Rules can run off standard demographics - team, location, gender, designation and the rest - or a custom attribute, dropdown or text, that you've added.
A section with no rule attached stays visible to everyone, as before. On the response form itself, a hidden section is not just skipped - it's excluded entirely: it doesn't count toward the question total, the estimated time, the progress bar, or which questions are checked as required. What a respondent sees and what's expected of them always match. Rules are evaluated live, from each employee's own profile, as they take the survey.
By default, a section carries a single rule. If your account has multi-rule support turned on, you can stack more than one condition on a section - all of them have to match for the section to show. Once a survey is published, its section rules appear read-only on the Questions tab, so anyone reviewing the survey can see exactly what's configured.
Section rules affect eligibility - only employees who qualify for a section are counted toward its responses. Downstream reporting and exports respect the same rules, and anonymity thresholds continue to apply based on who was actually eligible to answer.
