Methodology

Definition. eNPS = % promoters (9 to 10) minus % detractors (0 to 6) on the 0 to 10 recommend question, giving a score from −100 to +100. Reported per company, then summarised across companies.
Zones. Below 0: detractors outnumber promoters. 0 to 10 neutral, 10 to 30 good, 30 to 50 strong, 50 to 70 excellent, 70 and above exceptional. Bands follow common industry practice and are checked against CultureMonkey's own distribution.
Source. Anonymised responses from CultureMonkey customers since 2021 Q3, refreshed quarterly; headline figures use complete data through Q2 2026.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

01
What is a good eNPS score in 2026?

In CultureMonkey's Q2 2026 benchmarks the median eNPS is +27. Common practice reads 10 to 30 as good, 30 to 50 as strong and 50 and above as excellent, so the typical benchmark company sits in the good zone. The top quartile of CultureMonkey's benchmark companies scores above +44, and the top decile above +56.

02
How is eNPS calculated?

eNPS asks how likely an employee is to recommend the company as a place to work, on 0 to 10. Promoters (9 to 10) minus detractors (0 to 6), as percentages, gives a score from −100 to +100. CultureMonkey computes it per company and reports the distribution across companies.

03
Which industry has the highest eNPS?

Energy has the highest eNPS of all 18 industries in CultureMonkey's Q2 2026 data at +56, followed by Mining at +41. The lowest is Education at −24.

04
What eNPS score is top quartile?

In CultureMonkey's Q2 2026 benchmarks the top quartile of companies starts at +44 and the top 10% start at +56, on the −100..+100 scale. The median company sits at +27. Percentiles are computed across companies, each contributing one eNPS value, so these thresholds describe where an employer ranks among peer employers.

05
Is a negative eNPS normal?

It happens: the 10th percentile of companies in CultureMonkey's Q2 2026 benchmarks sits at −2, so roughly one company in ten scores at or below zero, meaning detractors outnumber promoters. It is a starting point rather than a verdict, and the drivers most closely tied to advocacy are ranked on the driver page.

06
Do engagement scores and eNPS move together?

Mostly, yes. Across the 27 industry, region and company-size segments in CultureMonkey's data the correlation between engagement (0-10) and eNPS is r = 0.85. They remain different instruments, engagement is a composite of drivers, eNPS is willingness to recommend, so both are reported side by side rather than combined.
